Welcome to Affeldt Mion Museum in the 1930 Depot at La Posada Hotel, celebrating the artists who have contributed to the rich cultural heritage of Winslow Arizona.
In 2018, Allan Affeldt, along with a dedicated crew of artists, engineers, craftsmen, and government support, completed the rehabilitation and expansion of the 1930 depot into a museum—a brilliant example of adaptive reuse. The museum has gathered collections in conjunction with the Winslow Arts Trust and is now coalescing the artifacts into exhibits.
We are currently open seven days a week from 9 am – 5 pm, however, we may occasionally have to close due to staffing issues, so please call if you are planning a visit. Admission is a suggested $5 minimum donation to the Winslow Arts Trust. If you are a Winslow resident, college student, or Native American, admission is free with proper ID!
Key Exhibits
Affeldt Mion Museum is home to the Hubbell-Joe Rug exhibit, the largest known hand-carded Navajo Rug. We also feature Fred Harvey, Mary Colter, and La Posada history, as well as celebrating the Winslow Studio Artists who have greatly contributed to the success of La Posada and Winslow. Help Support the Affeldt Mion Museum, Winslow Az
The $2 million restoration and opening of the museum happened thanks to major support from Allan Affeldt and Tina Mion, City of Winslow, and NACOG Northern Arizona Council of Governments. We hope to continue to explore Winslow’s rich cultural history through AMM and the Winslow Arts Trust (a 501c3 public benefit non-profit). If you’d like to support what we are doing, please click this link! Allan and Tina will match all gifts!
